    The treatment is performed as a course of several sessions, and the doctor determines the number of sessions based on the condition of your skin and what you want to address. Sessions follow one another at regular intervals so that collagen production can build up. We determine the interval between individual treatments at the consultation, based on how your skin responds to treatment. Once the course is complete, we discuss whether and when a maintenance treatment makes sense.

  • Does RF microneedling hurt and how long does the treatment take?

    Before treatment, we apply a local anaesthetic to the skin, which reduces the sensation of the needles. During treatment, patients tend to describe warmth and mild stinging rather than sharp pain, though the sensation varies from patient to patient. If you are sensitive to the treatment, let us know in advance and we will adjust the approach. The treatment itself takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area.

  • When will I see the result and how long does it last?

    The change does not appear overnight, because new collagen forms gradually. The full effect develops over 3 to 6 months, though the first changes are usually visible sooner. The result is not permanent, your skin continues to age, and the effect gradually fades. How long it lasts for you depends on your age, skin condition, home skincare, and lifestyle, so we cannot promise an exact duration in advance.

  • What does recovery look like and what are the side effects?

    After treatment, the skin is red and mildly swollen, and the redness settles down within about 2 to 3 days. Small scabs may form at the injection points and fall off on their own; the skin tends to be more sensitive than usual, so do not remove the scabs. For one week, avoid sauna, heat, sunbathing, and intense sport, and protect your skin from the sun, as darker skin types may temporarily darken after treatment. If redness and pain get worse after a few days instead of easing, or a pus-filled reaction or fever develops, contact the clinic at +420 777 879 849, as this may be a sign of infection.

  • Does RF microneedling help with acne scars and enlarged pores?

    The method is used for atrophic acne scars, stretch marks, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture, because it targets remodelling of connective tissue in the deeper layers of the skin.   • How should I prepare for the treatment and care for my skin afterwards?

    One week before the treatment, avoid retinoids, AHA and BHA acids, and peels, and do not use a sunbed or sunbathe. One week before, also avoid over-the-counter painkillers containing acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen, as they increase the tendency to bleed and bruise. Do not stop any medication prescribed by your doctor, especially blood thinners or antiplatelet medication, on your own. Talk to your treating physician first. Come to the treatment without makeup, and if you get cold sores, let us know in advance. For the first few days, cleanse your skin gently with lukewarm water and use a moisturising cream; for the following week, use a sunscreen with SPF 50, and avoid makeup, sauna, swimming pools, and direct sun exposure for now.

  • Who is RF microneedling not suitable for?

    We do not perform this treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding, during an active infection in the treated area, including an active cold sore or inflammatory acne, or in patients with a pacemaker, defibrillator, or another implanted electronic device. If you have a metal implant or extensive metal dental work in the treated area, let us know in advance, and the doctor will assess the approach individually. Also let us know if you have an allergy to metals, especially nickel, or to the local anaesthetic, since both come into contact with the skin during treatment. For a tendency to form keloid scars, melasma, autoimmune conditions, and treatment with isotretinoin or shortly after it, the doctor decides individually after assessing your condition. That is why we discuss your health, allergies, current medication, and any previous treatments at the consultation before the first procedure.
