Hyaluronic acid to restore volume, shape facial contours and soften folds and lines
What Are Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Hyaluronic acid fillers are injectable gels placed in or beneath the skin. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in human skin and binds water. In aesthetic medicine the gel is used to restore volume, shape facial contours and soften folds and lines that are visible at rest. Products differ in density and intended use, and your doctor chooses the type that suits each area.

Temporary effect, duration varies
Recovery
Your doctor will explain at the consultation
The body gradually absorbs hyaluronic acid, so the result is temporary. If needed, the gel can be dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase, but this is a separate procedure that your doctor assesses individually. Lips have their own Lip Augmentation page and online booking; this page covers the other areas of the face.
Treatment Areas
Good to Know
A temporary material
Hyaluronic acid is absorbed gradually, so the result is not permanent and does not change abruptly.
An individual plan
Your doctor determines the area, the type of gel and the amount according to your anatomy and the goal you agree on.
Room for adjustment
The gel can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. This is a separate procedure with its own risks.
Gradual build-up
Volume can be added step by step, and for a more noticeable change your doctor may suggest several sessions.

What are hyaluronic acid fillers and who are they suitable for?
Hyaluronic acid fillers are injectable gels placed in or beneath the skin. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in human skin and binds water. The gel is used to restore volume, shape facial contours and soften folds and lines that are visible at rest. Whether the treatment is suitable for you is assessed by your doctor at a free consultation, based on your health and findings. Hyaluronic acid is absorbed gradually, so the result is temporary.

How much do hyaluronic acid fillers cost in Poděbrady?
The price depends on the treated area and the amount of gel. According to the price list, the cheek area is from CZK 6,000, the chin from CZK 4,000 and the lips CZK 6,000 per 1 ml. Prices for other areas are in the price list. Your doctor determines how much material you need, so we confirm the final price at a free consultation.

Which areas of the face can be treated with fillers?
Fillers are used in the cheek area, chin, lower jawline, nasolabial folds and corners of the mouth. The gel is also placed in forehead lines, between the eyebrows and around the eyes, for nose contouring and in the lips. Hyaluronic acid can also be placed in the skin as a skinbooster, which aims at hydration and skin quality rather than added volume. Your doctor assesses at the consultation which area and approach match your findings.
-
Does the injection hurt and how does the treatment work?
How it feels varies from person to person, and some patients describe pressure and a brief pinch rather than pain. Many products contain a local anaesthetic, and depending on the area a numbing cream can be applied beforehand. The gel is placed with a fine needle or cannula in the chosen layer, and the doctor may shape it with the fingers. If you are sensitive, tell us in advance and the approach will be adjusted.
-
When will I see the result and how long does it last?
The effect is often visible right after the injection, but swelling can distort it for the first few days. The shape evens out as the swelling settles. The result is temporary: hyaluronic acid is absorbed gradually, so it does not change suddenly. How long it lasts for you depends on the product, the treated area, your metabolism and your lifestyle, so an exact duration cannot be promised in advance.
-
How much gel will I need and how many sessions?
Your doctor determines the amount of gel at the consultation, based on your anatomy, your starting point and the goal of the treatment. A more noticeable change can be spread across several sessions, because building up volume gradually is gentler on the tissue than injecting a large amount at once. You will learn how much material you need and how many sessions that means at a free consultation, before the treatment.
-
What is the difference between a filler and botulinum toxin?
A hyaluronic acid filler restores missing volume and works on folds and lines that are visible at rest. Botulinum toxin temporarily relaxes the facial muscles and addresses lines caused by movement. They are two different methods with different goals, not a cheaper and a more expensive version of the same thing. Your doctor will assess at a free consultation which one matches your findings and whether a combination is appropriate.
-
What are the risks and side effects?
Mild swelling, redness, small bruises and tenderness are common after the injection and settle within a few days. Temporary unevenness or asymmetry can occur, and the doctor assesses it once the swelling has gone down. Infection at the injection site is rare. Serious complications, such as a blood vessel being blocked by the filler, are rare. The risk is higher in some areas, such as between the eyebrows and on the nose. If you notice severe pain, blanching or a change in skin colour, or a vision disturbance, contact us at once on +420 777 879 849; for a vision disturbance, seek emergency medical care.

How should I prepare and how should I care for my skin afterwards?
In the days before the treatment, avoid over-the-counter painkillers containing acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen, vitamin E and alcohol, as they increase the risk of bruising; your doctor will advise how long. Do not stop any medication prescribed by your doctor, especially blood thinners, on your own; talk to your treating physician first. Come to the appointment without make-up. Your doctor will give you aftercare instructions, for example limiting exercise, sauna and alcohol in the first days.

Who are hyaluronic acid fillers not suitable for?
The treatment is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, during an active infection or inflammation in the treated area, including an active cold sore, or if you have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine. For autoimmune conditions, bleeding disorders and a tendency to form keloid scars, the doctor decides individually. The treatment is also not performed in people with a history of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis). Tell us in advance if you tend to get cold sores or have had a previous filler or thread in the area. That is why we discuss your health, allergies and medication at the consultation before the treatment.
