What is Fotona 4D lifting?

Fotona 4D lifting is a non-invasive laser treatment of the face on the TimeWalker 4D PRO laser. It takes place in four consecutive phases: from inside the mouth through the mucosa, through deep tissue warming and through surface smoothing of the skin. The aim is to firm slack skin and soften fine and moderate wrinkles without incisions or fillers.

Procedure Duration

Approximately 30-60 minutes

Results

Gradually, full results in 2-6 months

Recovery

Minimal, mild redness and peeling

What the 4D label means

The number 4 in the name refers to four treatment phases: SmoothLiftin', FRAC3, PIANO and SupErficial. One phase is performed from inside the mouth through the mucosa, and the others range from deep tissue warming to surface smoothing of the skin. The phases follow one another during a single treatment.

Who Fotona 4D lifting is suitable for

The treatment is intended for skin that is losing firmness, for fine and moderate wrinkles, and for those who want an improvement without filler. With marked tissue sagging it does not replace a surgical facelift, and the doctor will tell you so openly at the consultation.

What Fotona 4D lifting may help with

Slack skin and loss of firmness

Fine and moderate wrinkles

Uneven skin surface

Wanting to improve your skin without filler

The degree of improvement is individual.

Four treatment phases

1

SmoothLiftin'

The Er:YAG laser in SMOOTH mode works from inside the mouth through the mucosa. It is the only phase performed inside the mouth.

2

FRAC3

The second phase uses the FRAC3 mode of the Nd:YAG laser, which the doctor also uses for acne, small vessels and pigmentation.

3

PIANO

The PIANO phase deeply warms the facial tissues.

4

SupErficial

The final phase smooths the skin surface, and the manufacturer also lists it as Light Peel. Afterwards the skin may become mildly red and peel.

How the treatment works

1

Consultation

The doctor takes photo documentation, assesses whether the treatment suits you and rules out contraindications, for example an active infection, pregnancy or recent use of retinoids.

2

Preparation

The treatment area is often cooled and protective goggles shield your eyes. A numbing cream is often used for the surface phase.

3

Four treatment phases

Treatment begins with the phase from inside the mouth and continues with three further phases. You may feel some phases as warmth or stinging. The whole treatment takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

4

After treatment

You receive skin care instructions, above all on sun protection with SPF cream.

When to expect a result

The results improve gradually and are usually complete after approximately 2 to 6 months. The effect is temporary, the skin continues to age naturally and the treatment is therefore repeated. Results vary from person to person.

How many treatments you will need

For Fotona 4D lifting it is usually 1 treatment per year, and the doctor determines the plan. Based on your findings and goal, the doctor tells you when it makes sense to repeat the treatment.
