Fotona StarWalker MaQX Laser
The price depends on the treatment type, the size of the area and the number of treatments.
A laser for targeted skin concerns: tattoos and permanent makeup, pigmentation, small vessels, unwanted hair and acne.
What is StarWalker MaQX?
StarWalker MaQX is a Fotona laser system built on an Nd:YAG laser that, depending on the treatment, works with very short pulses, for example when breaking up ink, or with long pulses, for example in hair removal. The energy is aimed at a specific target in the skin, such as ink particles, pigment or a tiny vessel. That is why we use it mainly for targeted concerns, from tattoos through pigmentation and small vessels to laser hair removal and acne. The doctor determines the mode and settings according to your findings and skin phototype.

What we treat with the StarWalker laser
The contraindications listed further down this page apply to every treatment.
Tattoo removal
The laser breaks up ink in the skin photoacoustically, and for deeper and multicolored tattoos the doctor may choose a fractional approach. Both black and colored tattoos can be treated, usually 4-6 treatments, 6-8 weeks apart, and the exact number depends on the size and colors of the tattoo. Complete removal cannot be promised in advance. Price: from CZK 3,000 per treatment.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Permanent makeup removal
The laser can lighten or remove permanent makeup, usually 1-2 treatments, 6-8 weeks apart. Permanent makeup pigment may paradoxically darken after laser exposure, so show it to us before treatment and the doctor will assess it. Price: CZK 3,000 per treatment.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Pigmentation spots and lentigo
The laser reduces pigment in the surface and deeper layers of the skin. It is used for sun spots (lentigo) and for pigmentation left after skin inflammation. Lentigo usually takes 3-4 treatments, for other pigmentation spots the doctor determines the number of treatments according to the findings, and sun protection is part of the plan. We do not remove a pigmented mole by laser without a prior assessment by a dermatologist. Price of pigmentation spots: from CZK 1,000 per spot, 10% discount for 5 spots, 20% discount for 10 spots. Price of lentigo: from CZK 1,000 per treatment, depending on size.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Melasma
Only some types of melasma can be treated with a laser, and the doctor chooses cautious settings because unsuitable treatment can make the pigmentation worse. The laser is only one part of the plan, alongside sun protection and home care recommended by the doctor, and it usually means 3-4 treatments, 4 weeks apart. You should expect melasma to return and a maintenance regime. Price: from CZK 1,000 per treatment, depending on size.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Rosacea and facial veins
The Nd:YAG laser acts on small dilated vessels and coagulates them, and it suits facial capillaries. In rosacea the aim is to reduce the symptoms, not to cure the condition, and it usually means 3-4 treatments, 4 weeks apart. The doctor determines the number of treatments for facial veins according to their extent. Bruising and temporary pigmentation may appear after treatment. Price of rosacea treatment: from CZK 1,000 per treatment, depending on size. Price for facial veins: from CZK 1,000 per treatment, depending on size.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Veins on the limbs
The Nd:YAG laser coagulates small vessels and is also used for small veins on the limbs. The doctor determines the number of treatments according to the extent of the veins. Bruising and temporary pigmentation may appear after treatment. Price: from CZK 1,200 per treatment, depending on size.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Nevus flammeus
Nevus flammeus, commonly called a port-wine stain, is a vascular birthmark. The aim of treatment is to lighten it, the result is individual and complete clearing cannot be promised. It usually means 2-4 treatments. Price: from CZK 1,000 per treatment, depending on size.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Laser hair removal
The long-pulse Nd:YAG laser acts on the hair follicle and reduces hair growth. This is hair reduction, not complete removal, usually 4-6 treatments spaced according to the hair growth cycle. With darker skin the doctor chooses cautious settings. Price: from CZK 1,000 per treatment, depending on size.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Active acne and acne scars
In active acne the aim is to reduce sebaceous gland activity and bacteria, and in acne scars the laser supports scar remodeling. The number of treatments depends on severity, often combined with treatment the doctor prescribes, and for scars the doctor may also recommend the TimeWalker laser or RF microneedling. If you have taken isotretinoin in the last 6 months, treatment must be postponed. Price: from CZK 1,000 per treatment, depending on size.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Moles and skin growths
The laser can remove small moles and skin growths. We do not remove a pigmented mole by laser without a prior assessment by a dermatologist, because the laser destroys the tissue needed to rule out a tumor. The doctor always assesses the type of lesion and the approach. Price: from CZK 700 per mole, 10% discount for 5 moles, 20% discount for 10 moles.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Warts
We treat warts with the StarWalker laser. The doctor determines the type of skin lesion and the number of treatments according to the findings. Price: CZK 700 per piece.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
Nail fungus
We treat nail fungus (onychomycosis) with a laser, and the approach depends on the extent and diagnosis. The aim is to suppress the fungal infection, and the result cannot be promised in advance. Price: CZK 1,000 per nail.
The doctor will assess suitability at the consultation.
How the doctor chooses the approach
At the consultation the doctor takes photo documentation, determines your skin phototype and checks for contraindications, for example an active infection, pregnancy or recent use of retinoids. A pigmented mole must be assessed by a dermatologist before treatment. Based on the findings the doctor selects the laser mode and settings and proposes the number of treatments and their spacing. You do not need to choose the device or method, that is the doctor's task, and some concerns, for example acne scars, can also be treated with the TimeWalker laser or another method.
When we do not perform treatment
Before every StarWalker laser treatment we check these contraindications. For relative ones, the doctor decides individually after assessing your condition.
We do not perform laser treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active infection or cold sore in the treated area, with unhealed skin at the treatment site, or with recent use of retinoids, especially isotretinoin within the last 6 months. If you take medications that increase skin sensitivity to light, tell us, as the treatment then needs to be planned in agreement with the prescribing doctor. Your skin phototype and current tan also play a role. We do not remove a pigmented mole by laser without a prior assessment by a dermatologist, because the laser destroys the tissue needed to rule out a tumor. We therefore review your health, medications and allergies at the consultation before the first treatment.
